This is the sunflower that Claire started from a seed this summer at reading camp. She's very excited to know that there are lots of new seeds forming inside the growing blossoms, and is definitely looking forward to planting and growing flowers from this plant that she has taken care of all summer. This shot is going to be part of a thank you card for the teacher that started the project.

Yeah, I don't think this is the giant variety that makes tons of edible seeds, but then, I haven't asked her teacher what kind of sunflower this is. 
She's certainly having fun taking care of it tho. And the basil, parsley, and oregano that we planted are making mealtimes real fun as we go out to harvest some fresh herbs. She's loving it.
